petition hand in for stephen

On 1st February we handed in the huge petition calling on the UK Home office to allow “Stephen” to stay in the UK.

10 year old orphan ‘Stephen’ was picked up by gangsters in Vietnam and trafficked to the UK. For five years he lived through hell, forced to work farming cannabis in terrible conditions. Luckily, he was rescued by the police, fostered by a local vicar and started a new life. But now he’s turning 18 the Home office want to deport him.

It’s an ordeal no one should be put through. As part of their clampdown on child trafficking the government has promised to “put victims first”. But the government is failing Stephen. Together we can we can make sure the Home Office do the right thing, keep to their word and allow him to stay.

So far over 100,000 people have signed the petition calling on them to do the right thing and let him stay. Please add your signature here.

Helen Goodman MP

Stephen’s MP Helen Goodman came along to the petition hand in and has been helping to promote his case with the Home Office.
